looks like the dust has settled and I'm flung back to the harsh reality... the world where money is never enough and work is aplenty... haiz... and i'm getting really nervous over my driving exam... it's a do or die thing to me man PLS LET ME PASS!
anyway, a month in France has changed me subtly... becoming more independent is one thing but surely the lessons learnt on street-smartness are truly the more noteworthy ones... And little by little, I let go of the idea that the world revolves around or even that the world revolves around Singapore... Many of the french dun even know Singapore exists as an independent nation... My french teacher said visiting Singapore has never crossed her mind... someone tot Singapore was still under Japan... Oh dear... But I'll always counter these with a proud smile "Singapore has the best airport in the whole world!" Well, that's all... i just hope that one day Singapore will truly have its place in the world stage
anyway, on a lighter note, I've done a fair bit of shopping in france! Bought a skirt for only $16 in Zara France, 2 tops for only $22 altogether at jennyfer and lots of souvenirs... it so happened that my last 2 days in Lyon coincided with the Great European Sale and the sales are much crazier than those in Singapore... Shop till u drop man... Oh the best part are the made in France Vichy, la Roche-Posay and Avene products cos they're either half priced or 10 dollars cheaper than those products sold in Singapore! I bought a Vichy sunblock 50+ for $22 (sg sells for $39), avene facial wash for $14 (sg sells for $29.90), vichy antiperfection moisturiser for $26 and La roche posay eye contour hydratant :) I bought Kiehl's too but it's cheaper in Singapore than the one I bought in Paris... Oh well so much for the shopping haha keep ur eyes peeled for the photos i took during my weekends-- the mediterranean seaside, the picturous mountains and the neverending apricots, cherris and strawberries farms... ah...
